This Is Africa 2 is more than a learning platform it’s a movement for empowerment, inclusion, and connection. We are an East African education and training initiative dedicated to equipping teachers, parents, and communities with digital learning tools and knowledge that strengthen education across the continent. From teacher training programs to parenting and child development courses, from digital literacy to inclusive learning for learners with Autism, Dyslexia, or hearing differences we make learning accessible, practical, and culturally relevant. Born from collaboration, This Is Africa 2 stands at the intersection of leadership, technology, and compassion a space where innovation meets purpose, and where Africa’s changemakers build the future of education together.
When I first joined the RLC EA program, I came in as a young businessperson looking for partners and opportunities to win competitions. But once the program began, everything changed. There was a team-building activity where I had to walk on ropes—something I had never tried before. I was 99% sure I would fall before even trying.
Yet, the voices of my teammates, their encouragement and belief in me, pushed me to go forward. That moment made me realize something powerful: we are nothing when we stand alone, but when we stand together with a shared goal, we can go further than we ever imagined.
As I got to know everyone better, I began to feel deeply connected to the struggles and dreams of each changemaker in the cohort. Many had the ideas and the expertise, but they lacked the technology to bring their visions to life. That is when I thought—this is where Ethio IQ can help. Ethio IQ is an education technology company, and I realized we could create a community service wing to support our cohort fellows and their students with the technology they need.
By doing this, we would not only empower the changemakers but also reach thousands of learners connected to their work. That is how thisisafrica2.com was born. The name comes from our cohort’s chant, “This is Africa, and Africa is our business.” The number 2 is a tribute to Cohort 2—a reminder of where it all started, and of the unity that inspired this vision.
To build a more inclusive and educated Africa by providing accessible, locally designed courses that empower educators, parents, and changemakers to understand and support diverse learning needs.
An Africa where every learner is seen, supported, and celebrated — and where education is the bridge to unity, opportunity, and transformation.
