What is This Is Africa?
This Is Africa is an online learning platform dedicated to empowering teachers, parents, and caregivers across East Africa with the knowledge and tools to support children with Autism, Dyslexia, and hearing differences. We provide accessible, culturally relevant courses designed to make education more inclusive and understanding for all.

Do I need a background in teaching or special education to join?
Not at all. Our courses are designed for everyone, regardless of background. We explain key concepts in simple, practical terms that anyone can understand — whether you’re a professional teacher or a concerned parent.
What topics does This Is Africa cover?
We focus on three main areas of learning:
Sign Language: Communication skills for deaf and hard-of-hearing learners
Dyslexia: Understanding reading and learning difficulties
Autism: Awareness, support, and inclusion for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
